GUIDE · ALUMINIUM FENCES

Aluminium fences: how to choose, measure and order one.

Everything you ask us before ordering, in one place: straight or angled louvres, which heights we build, colour, gates, how to measure and what it costs. The figures on this page are the same ones the configurator calculates with.

01

Straight or angled louvres?

Both lines are the same powder-coated aluminium and differ only in how the louvre sits. Bura has straight louvres — a calm, solid surface. Jugo has angled louvres: at eye level they close the view, while air and light pass through from above.

The price is per metre and depends only on the line: Bura from €135/m, Jugo from €150/m, VAT included.

What heights do we build?

The standard heights are listed below, and in the configurator you can also enter your own, from 45 to 155 cm. Within that range, the height does not change the price per metre.

Height is measured from the finished ground you will be standing on to the top of the fence — not from the bottom of a wall or a footing. If the fence sits on a low wall, measure the fence only.

03

Colour: anthracite, or the RAL colour of your choice.

The standard colour is anthracite RAL 7016. You can also choose another colour from the RAL chart, with no surcharge.

The aluminium is powder-coated, so it does not rust, never needs repainting and asks for no maintenance.

Gates made to match.

To go with the fence we make single-leaf, double-leaf and sliding gates, with the same louvres as the Bura or Jugo fence. In the configurator you add them alongside the runs, and we state their price and the exact opening in the quote.

Measure the opening for a gate separately, as the clear opening between the posts or walls — and do not subtract it from the length of the fence.

How to measure your fence.

All you need is a tape measure and five minutes. Measure roughly — we take the exact measurements ourselves, on site, before anything is built. Five rules:

1 · Measure the length along the ground, following the fence line

Walk where the fence will stand and measure along the ground, following the line — not through the air and not diagonally. If the fence turns a corner, add both legs together. Round up to the nearest half metre: 8.5 beats 8.3.

2 · One run = one straight stretch at one height

If the ground falls away, or the fence steps down, that is two runs and not one. The same goes if one stretch is lower to keep a view. Add a run for each and give each its own length and height — the estimate adds the metres up.

3 · Height is from the finished ground to the top of the fence

From the ground you will be standing on, not from the bottom of a wall or a footing. If the fence sits on a low wall, measure the fence only — the wall is not our part. If in doubt, enter the height you want to see and we will match it on site.

4 · Measure gates separately, as the clear opening

The opening between the posts or walls, where the gate actually passes. Do not subtract gates from the fence length — just tell us how many and which kind; their price and the exact opening are settled in the quote.

5 · Do not count the posts

Post spacing, how many there are and how they are anchored are ours to decide, against the height and the ground. You give the total length; the rest is our job.

Not sure? Put in an approximate figure and send a photo of the spot with the enquiry — a photograph shows the ground, the access and the slope, and that often tells us more than a decimal place does.

06

How much does it cost?

The price per metre is multiplied by the total length of all the runs. It includes making the fence in powder-coated aluminium in the RAL colour of your choice, VAT, and a survey on site before anything is built.

Gates and bespoke structures are charged per unit, and delivery is arranged — or you collect the fence from the workshop in Seget Donji. From 25 m upwards we apply a volume discount; the amount comes in the quote.

The sea, salt and maintenance.

With stainless steel, the distance from the sea sets the material grade. With aluminium, the question does not arise: powder-coated aluminium does not rust, never needs repainting and asks for no maintenance, so the distance from the sea decides neither the line nor the material.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an aluminium fence cost per metre?

Bura, with straight louvres, from €135/m; Jugo, with angled louvres, from €150/m. The price is per linear metre and includes making the fence and VAT. Gates are charged per unit; delivery is arranged, or you collect the fence from the workshop.

What is the difference between straight and angled louvres?

Only in how the louvre sits. Straight louvres (Bura) give a calm, solid surface; angled ones (Jugo) close the view at eye level while letting air and light through from above. The material and the finish are the same.

What fence heights do you build?

The standard heights are 60, 80, 100, 120, 150 cm, and you can also enter your own, from 45 to 155 cm. Height is measured from the finished ground to the top of the fence.

Can I choose a colour other than anthracite?

You can — any colour from the RAL chart, with no surcharge. The standard colour is anthracite RAL 7016.

Does an aluminium fence by the sea need maintenance?

No — powder-coated aluminium does not rust, never needs repainting and asks for no maintenance, so the distance from the sea, unlike with stainless steel, decides neither the line nor the material.

Do you install the fence?

We do not install. We deliver the fence to your address, or you collect it from the workshop in Seget Donji, ready to fit.
