Metal has been the family trade since 1957.
Four generations, one trade and the same address in Seget Donji, just outside Trogir. The grandfather opened a blacksmith's shop, the father a locksmith's trade, Ivan Čarija founded Ivan Inox Centar d.o.o. in 2007 — and his son is already taking over the running of it. Nobody retrained and nobody diversified: metal is the only work this family does, and it has done it for 69 years.
The railing you receive is cut, welded and polished in that same workshop, by the same hands that measured it. Nobody hands responsibility to somebody else's crew, and nobody says “that part is not our job”.

1957
Grandfather opens a blacksmith's shop
The first workshop in the family. Blacksmithing as it was then — tools, fittings, grilles and repairs for the neighbourhood, all by hand and on the anvil.
the 1980s
Father opens a locksmith's trade
Second generation, different tools. Metalwork moved the trade out of the forge and into welding and bending: structures, gates and railings.
2007
Ivan founds the company
Third generation, and the first limited company in the line. Everything in metal under one roof — stainless, aluminium, fences, handrails, stairs and marine fittings, all from our own workshop.
today
His son takes over the running of it
The fourth generation is already in the workshop and is gradually taking over the running of the business, ahead of Ivan's retirement. Same address, same tools, same standard — only the name on the quote changes.
Ivan Čarija
Owner and metalworker, the third generation in the line. His own workshop since 2007. Alongside domestic railings he builds marine fittings — which is where the habit comes from of finishing and passivating every weld, and of taking a measurement with a template rather than by eye.
